He continued to lose hair after the surgery and has finally started to sprout some, but he is so itchy that I'm having a hard time keeping his skin free from sores. I use vaseline on the red spots, but then he just starts scratching somewhere else. He is also still losing a little hair on his head and face. Has anyone else had this slow recovery process? I need a little comfort and advice on how to make him more comfortable. All our left adrenals loose hair and it stays lost. :-) Has anyone else noticed this correlation? Skit has patterned baldness on his back, right down the middle going out towards the sides. Duff has no hair whatsoever on his underside from the bottom of his chin to the tip of his tail - ONLY on the bottom side. He looks perfectly normal from the top. Duff also had two 'bumps' removed earlier this year, 1 from the top of his head and 1 from his side - he looked like frankenferret. I noted with Gizzie that he also had a 'bump' and after his adrenal surgery, the bump disappeared with out being removed. Gizzie is showing adrenal symptoms again and the 'bump' has reappeared. Correlations? Anyone else? Hugs to all. tle 3.---------- Forwarded message ---------- Date: Tue, 21 Oct 1997 14:30:43 -0400 (EDT) From: MADWAH@aol.com Subject: re: abdominal mass In a message dated 97-10-18 15:08:41 EDT, you write: Most likely, the large firm mass is the spleen. Most ill ferrets develop secondary spleen enlargements. Some can be quite large. As soon as the primary illness is corrected, the spleen typically returns to regular size.
